About Trailer Trash
In the winter of 2006, John Michael Montgomery wanted to put together a group of talented musicians for a recurring Wednesday night open mic night at his restaurant “John Michael’s Hometown Bar and Grill”. Selecting musicians from different bands in the local area and even throwing in one of his employees, was just the start to the story.
The group had three days to put it together a show. In a few short days, they pulled it off and surprised some soon to be loyal fans. Over the next few weeks, they added a guitar player and shortly there after, a new bass player. With the line-up complete, operating manager Dick Gragert jokingly made the comment “You guys (being from different genres of music) are the “Trailer Trash of Bands”! From that point on, they were know as “Trailer Trash”!
Over the next few months, a rapid growth of fans insured a quick promotion to John Michael’s House Band. Trailer Trash began selling there unique brand of outlaw, hillbilly-redneck country music to fans of all ages. Performing wildly entertaining shows with a wide variety of musical styles all of there own.
In spring of 2006, they began to break attendance records second only to John Michael’s performances, but John didn’t hold that record for long. By spring of 2007, John Michael’s Hometown Bar and Grill had to add bartenders and other staff members in order to keep up with the now massive fan base.
Over the summer of 2007, the demands of the fans had to be heard and Trailer Trash was off to the studio to roll out a four song CD recorded with country producer Kirk Willie at Ohana Music Group Studios. At the release party, they quickly sold out to a maximum capacity crowd. Trailer Trash’s blend of hillbilly outlaw country is going to bring down the house, no matter where they play!
